What Is the Amazon Basics 35 Qt Mop Bucket?

It is a commercial-style mop bucket that holds 35 quarts (33 liters), sits on four casters and has a side-press wringer attached. The body is polypropylene with a metal handle. With the wringer it measures about 24.4 x 16.7 x 34.8 inches and weighs about 15.8 pounds empty.

How a Side-Press Wringer Works

You put the wet mop head into the wringer and pull the handle: the wringer squeezes the mop from the side and the water drains back into the bucket. You control how wet the mop is by how hard you press, and your hands never touch the dirty water. Side-press wringers of this type are designed for traditional wet (string) mops; flat microfiber and spin mops use their own systems.

Is 35 Quarts Right for a Home?

It is a large bucket. Water weighs about 2 pounds per quart, so you rarely need to fill it completely; a partial fill covers most homes and is easier to roll and empty. It suits large tiled or sealed floors, garages, basements and small businesses. For a small apartment, a compact bucket or a spin mop system takes far less storage space.

Storage

At almost 35 inches tall with the wringer, it needs a utility closet, laundry room or garage spot. Empty, rinse and dry it after each use so it does not smell.
