What Are the mDesign Deep Storage Bins?

They are two clear plastic bins, each 14.6 inches long, 8.1 inches wide and 6 inches tall. mDesign lists them for pantries, cabinets, cupboards, shelves, the refrigerator and the freezer, to hold dry goods, sauces, condiments and drinks.

Why a Deep Bin

At almost 15 inches long, these bins reach the back of a deep pantry shelf or refrigerator shelf, the zone where items are usually forgotten. Pull the bin forward and everything at the back comes with it. The 6-inch height holds bottles, jars and drink cans upright.

Will They Fit?

• Depth: you need at least about 15 inches of shelf depth. Standard 12-inch upper cabinets are too shallow; deep pantry shelves, base cabinets and most refrigerators work.
• Height: leave room above the 6-inch bin to lift items out.

Best Uses

For short items and shallow shelves, the mDesign shallow bins (10 x 6 x 3 in) fit better. For a medium size, the ClearSpace bins are 11 x 8 x 6 inches.
